Please, please, please watch that carefully. Ranger had a very small hernia that was not supposed to be a problem. So I waited until he was six months for his neuter and when my vet called that afternoon to tell me he was out of surgery and doing well, he said that the small intestine had "incarcerated" in the hernia sack and was strangulated and dying. He had shown absolutely no symptoms but would have been dead very soon after had we not happened to have his surgery done that day. Knowing Ranger, he wouldn't have shown a symptom until he was on death's doorstep.
I am not trying to scare you, just want to make sure you watch your baby closely and try to get her spayed as soon as it is safely possible. I know lots of people don't get these hernias fixed, but it certainly can be a health concern. |
