Ahem! May I be added to the growing list? My great-grandmother taught me to crochet when I was about 4 years old, and I'll be 60 next month (where did the time GO????). It's been a long time, but I still remember.

I never did learn to knit, but I used to crochet a lot.

(Useless bit of information: I got caught crocheting in class one day and for punishment was assigned a task to write about its history. This was WELL before computers and the internet, so research was a lot harder. What I came up with was that it was "invented" during the French Revolution: an avid knitter lost a hand in one of the uprisings, and her husband invented the technique because it could be done with only one hand. A quick Google shows a lot of different "histories" now, but that's what I found back then.)

At any rate, I'd appreciate the directions, also.
