There are some good options here.

My two have "Please Help" on one side and my cell phone number on the other. The reasoning was that I'd be out looking for them, or perhaps I might lose them traveling.

No name: I didn't want anyone having a "heads up" on "taming" them.

No "Reward": I don't want to encourage someone to hold them (or even steal them!) for ransom. They will be rewarded, however.

"Needs Medication" would be a goodie: it may lead someone to believe the dog has more problems than they're will to deal with, and get it back to you sooner.

"Microchipped" isn't bad, either: it lets them know the dog is identifiable.

Small dog tags are, well ... "small". There isn't much room for words, and you don't want the words too small to see. So the message has to be succinct.
