I see the time estimate is 10.5 hours travel time. I never could decide if those estimates include necessary stops along the way. The true travel time might be longer. Fuel, food and bathrooms for human and canine? I would think the first thing to determine would be how far the person on the beginning leg is willing to drive north and how far the person on the receiving end is willing to drive south. When that is known, other folks could try to fill in between. Another consideration is if an overnight stay is necessary along the way.
