In regards to pressing charges... I don't know if it's worth it to you personally to go after them. I'm just thinking what a horrible 3 months you have already had and what you would have to put yourself threw if you pressed charges and go threw the whole legal process. They can be very long and drawn out not to mention could be costly to you.

I guess your first step would be to see if the police intend do press any charges. If not, find out what legal stance you have. Then make your decision at this point.

Please keep us informed.
when we filed the police report, we told them EVERYTHING. we gave them our phone records and told them exactly when the blocked number called us. the detective got a warrant out for the number and a warrant out for the address. the detective didnt give us that much details. i dont know why, but i respect her for that.

however, coincidently.. when we were there picking up our baby, the person who took our dog called the detective and spoke to her. i was trying to ease-drop there conversation (i know i shouldnt have but i was so upset still) and overheard that the police drove two hours to their house to question them and they lied the first time they got question! they detective told them they were lucky that were not pressing charges and that we only wanted our yorkie back. but the odd thing is, we never discussed about that to the detective. whether or not we were going to press charges. so, i felt a bit uneasy.. if i did go into the *not-pressing-charges* route, i want to be reassured that the police will punish them.

when the detective gave us back our dog, they gave family 2 phone number to us as well. family 2 told the detective to give us their number, just in case we would ever want to give our baby away that they would take him in. We did call them and thank them for taking good care of our baby and that were very apologetic for the inconvinience/unhappiness it brought to the family. we found out that the person who took our bbay was a co-worker of family 2 and thats how they were linked together.

now my question is, will the police do something.. if we take the forgiving route? and if they dont then i really want to consider pressing charges.

thank you for all your guidance and advice.
