Now I'm more confused after re-reading the AKC breed standard...it doesn't mention gold at all, but does say "lighter tan" for some places and "deep, richer tan" for other places on the face, chest and legs. Maybe there isn't really such a thing as gold?? Maybe what some call gold is just the deep, rich tan all over instead of having some of the lighter tan too??
