I envy those that ride car all happy too especially with their little heads sticking out I noticed that when she rode once on my laps she didn't throw up either - but that was only once - good luck w/car seat i tried that too and she still threw up didn't help. I would rather not have her ride on my lap because it's not safe. I also tried her crate since they say it's better because it's their "home" has their smell etc..and nope she still threw up so i don't know what to do, im going to try and do what the article above says.
