I also have the same problem. I put a sweater on my male once and it was terrible. Never do that again. If I brush the hair down and push it back when I put clothes on it seems to be a little better. If the clothes are also not tight, when I take them off instead of pulling over the head, I take their paws out and pull it off on their back and that really helps.
