I have hand-fed both of my dogs... (although they both had kibble out 24/7, and will eat if they get hungry) I started with my female (who's now at Rainbow Bridge) And Toby now gets the same treatment. I just look at it as being our own little "cuddle" time. He just eats til he's full, (and it doesn't really take that long) and then he's off running and playing again. I just don't look at it as any kind of a burden. Just that he's eating and happy. I don't feed any canned/wet food. My vet said that the kibble was fine, and better for his teeth. (occasionally, I'll get some for a little treat, but it's not something he expects)
