Yes, they can be trained not to soil in the house. BUT! They can be stubborn as hell when it comes to training. You have to be consistent about the timing of their potty breaks.
I send them out when they get up in the morning and then again after breakfast. They are sent out after lunch and then before and after dinner. They are sent out before bed and then they get a treat (bedsnack).
Jilly will pee in the house in a couple of favorite spots if we leave her. I make sure she goes out before we leave to lessen the chances.
Both dogs have a favorite spot outside.
Scooter has never soiled in the house. Never.
My dogs have a good vocabulary. They know...they know!!! They know pee-pee outside, they know treat...duck...cookie. Their favorite snack is a duck wrapped sweet potato. I think they'd kill for it!
