If you have carpet, the carpet may need to be pulled up, and the padding under it replaced. Although it may feel dry to the touch, the padding takes weeks to dry if it gets soaked, and it can mildew first.

I would try that first. If that doesn't work, you may have to take down your drywall, wipe the studs down with a mixture of 1/2 bleach and 1/2 water, then replace it.

I know how frustrating it can be. We had some ground water seepage in our rarely used guest room, from Gustav, and we didn't know until we smelled it...ICK! The good news is padding is cheap to replace, and the carpet can be steam cleaned. That was all we had to do to THAT room
