Now im deff not trying to put a damper in your excitement,,,but Riley had a cottony puppy coat.(he is just truning 7 months old) and the mink sheen did not do much for his coat,,(it worked great on my bichons, but not on him) and I have heard others on here say it didnt work so great on the cottony coats..I was excited to try it as well..but on the up side,,it does work good at repelling fleas,,and i like the smell,(altho some dont)..how old is you yorki? if is is still his or her puppy coat your dealing with,,you can cut it off, thats what I ended up doing..and its the best decision I ever made. what was underneath (the new growth) was soooooo much nicer then the dry matty puppy hair..and it was a differnt color,,so that was cool, it was like opening a christmas presant,,not knowing what you gonna get..lol...he was such a pretty shade of shiny silky soft bluish silver under all that yucky puppy hair!..and you can keep clothes on him so he wont get cold,,and there is a plus to that as well, the cothes used to make him get mats,,so i couldnt wear them on him very much, but not anymore!!!!

..now he gets to wear clothes all the time with no worries..and yet another plus side..the minksheen does work on this new growth...I think he is going to be silky altho I know his coat can change many times untill he is an adult.but for now its beautiful..Ill include a beofre and after pic.
