To dock or not to dock? Hello, We're getting ready to take the babies and momma in for a checkup and to get their tales and dewclaws done. Not looking forward to going back to the vets though, ya know?
I was thinking about NOT getting their tails docked. I've seen pictures of some with their tales left on and they are adorable. Reminds me of the Shih-tzus, which I used to have. I don't know, having doubts right now, so I better make up mind really quick.
I have asked questions to friends and such, if you were out buying a registered yorkie, and you looked at 5 different breeders with litters, would having their tails docked be a determining factor in buying one for a pet? Say if came down to two babies, one being mine, and one being from another breeder, and you liked them equally, the only difference being the tails, would you take the one with the tail docked or not? They all said that it would not be a determining factor in which yorkie they would choose. It would be the yorkie itself, personality and how the pet reached out to them. And 90% of them said, they thought the tails looked better not docked. So I don't know.
What are your thoughts?
