To the OP, this makes me so sad, I hope you rethink your attitude should you ever decide to get another pet. If you can't properly care for them due to finances or time constraints, re-homing must always be considered. While nobody should ever take this lightly, you should always love your pet enough to consider this. I agree with the others, the vet would not have offered this suggestion, if the quality of life would have been poor, and your dog was still very young so he had a good chance of recovery.

Next time why don't you selfish rich people fork over the money she needed to have the vet keep the puppy over night in order to get him to the rescue...either someone has the money or they don't.... have some compasion for heaven's sake
