Secondly, the doc said Spanky will never be the same after the surgery, so why would I have my buddy live his precious life in pain. I'd rather him live a life where he able to roam without getting injured.
Lastly, did I ask you have pity on me? NO!

From what you stated, the Doctor said his injuries could have been repaired, and when you declined because of the cost, the Doctor suggested that surrender him, which you choose NOT to do. So that tells me that he could have had surgery and he would have been able to live a happy life. I seriously doubt that a Doctor would suggest these things all the while knowing he would be in pain. If that were to be the case, he would suggest PTS as the FIRST option...
You found Yorkie Talk ~ So you could have found a Yorkie Rescue to take him in...Heck, you could have simply left him at the hospital and believe me, he would have gotten surgery and gotten into a rescue program and then onto a happy home...
And the pity part...Yeah you did ask for pity, you came here posting your story in RIP section.
Rest in Peace Spanky
