I recently switched Toby and Zoey to Merrick's Before Grain and they love it. The poop size is a bit smaller and I say a lot less. They do eat more of it mostly because they love it and the grains are fillers so they overall need more food. But as small as they are shoot it's not that much anyhow.

I have to say the poo smell is poo smell..not as strong but still a bit stinky as it's waste...lol. Toby's is worse than Zoey's but I guess just like men and women there is a difference there too.

Good luck. As for a vet saying that it's normal for a dog to have diahrreah...that is not true. Normally diahrreah is caused by stomach upset or might be something viral. My guys go firm every single time.
