I would like to add that my guys have been chewing on them for a very long time. I have a couple of these shank bones that are at least a couple of years old - when they get dirty, I pop them in the dishwasher and give them a thorough cleaning. In all the time that the kids have been chewing on shank bones I have had to throw away only one of them because of wear.
i thought only give raw bones? is it okay to give cooked bones? can i just buy it somewhere without having to cook it first? (i don't really know how to cook, but i can boil stuff really well though ) and also, they will like to chew on it even though there's no flavor on it? (you mentioned putting it in the dish washer)

thank you.
