I never leave mine at a vet unless there is someone there 24/7. I have never left one overnight for minor surgery and have always brought them home after spays/neuters. I have done quite a few because I am a rescuer. My biggest fear is that something could happen and no one would be there, so I prefer having them home with me. I am not telling you what to do, but I would suggest that you speak with the vet and ask for a good reason why you cannot bring her home tomorrow afternoon. Ask him what being in a cage will do for her...and what would happen IF she had a problem...is someone there? Ask him what they are going to do there overnight that you could not do!
Many vets recommend that they stay because some people have a tendency to overreact to things...OR to let the dogs run and jump when they should not. I believe most vets recommend it to make their own lives simpler. Just my thoughts.
I am so sure she will be fine. She is lucky to have such a concerned parent! Keep us posted!
