I am trying to be a good auntie and help my niece, She is looking into getting a new bird, That's was she asked for xmas. She is 10 years old and a very responsible kid. I spoke to my brother and he is ok with the idea.

I need any suggestions as of what type of bird to get her, She likes the lovebirds and also macaws

I believe the macaws are very expensive, correct?
