Thanks for everyone's stories. I was just curious. I agree that it has a lot to do with how they are socialized. Hot Rod came from a very small pet store and I can tell that he was held a lot! As soon as you held him across your arm, no matter what, he settled right down and was very content. He still does this pretty much til this day. The owners there are very much loving and caring people and they do hold their pups alot. Maggie is from a local breeder and she was raised around other dogs. I guess she may have had to share a lot of the attention so she is used to being independent. Hopefully she'll become a snuggle bug.
