Thank goodness it all worked out and he didn't get put down. I had a cat that I had for 13 years that everyone in my family called the psycho cat because she would attack for no reason, anyone except me and my kids, but I would never give up on her. Well, anyway, when we had to evacuate for Hurricane Rita and when we got home she attacked all of us. I mean blood was everywhere! I managed after an hour to get her in her carrier and rushed her to the vet. She bit the vet and 2 techs, and was going so crazy that she was rocking her carrier (hard plastic). The vet said she had dementia and needed to be put down because basically the stress of evacuating had caused her to go insane. I cried for two weeks. The worst part was that Rita took that last minute turn and didn't affect our home at all, so we could have stayed home.
