FK506/tacrolimus has to be compounded and I believe is only available through an opthamologist. Can you get your vet to give you a referral?
Dogs with KCS are prone to other eye problems like corneal ulcers so it's a good idea to have them seen by an opthamologist anyway. Surprisingly, it really isn't any more expensive. The office visit is a bit more ($65), but I found the tests and prescriptions to be less than my regular vet. |
