I leave their bowls with Canidae all stages with fresh water daily. THey nibble when hungry and We have never experienced food aggression. I have 3 Yorkies a Scottie and a Westie..for Pups I would wet the food with water until soft then put a few tiny tiny pieces of chicken breast then heat in micro for 10 seconds. They love the juice and smell of this food....Good Luck Girl.....
