Your vet could be doing a detailed blood panel. That will not necessarily show problems in the liver....generally it the damage to the liver is pretty extensive to show up on a regular blood panel. The bile acid test is another blood test...which shows you liver function. It is not definitive for liver shunt, but tells you whether additional testing is needed to determine LS.
If it is liver shunt you really don't want to wait to get a diagnosis...the sooner treated...the better. The longer the condition goes...the worse the damage could be to her liver.
What do you feed her? How's she act after eating?
