Here's a couple of ideas:
I had a trainer help me when I introduced a Lab to my two Yorkies, and she had us set up the first meeting in an nearby park. She held Rusty on a leash, and I walked up with Eddie. At first, we didn't let them get together. Just see each other. If they do OK, you can go ahead and let them get closer and sniff butts, whatever. After that, go for a leashed walk, with two humans walking the two dogs. That worked well for us. However, sometimes dogs can become aggressive when they're leashed, so you'll have to watch them.
Another option. A friend recently attended a seminar on introducing sometimes-aggressive dogs to each other. The instructor lives on a 5-acre ranch. He swears that if you just give them plenty of room, there's never any problems. The people in the seminar walked dozens of yards away from each other. The dogs would come up and socialize with each other, but they humans never came together. It was all unleashed. Maybe you can do it in an enclosed ball field or a vacant dog park.
Try not to panic. It's very common that they don't get along at first. My guess is they will be best friends in a couple weeks. If toys become a problem, scoop them all up and only hand them out during supervised toy time.
Good luck
