There is about 2.5 grams of fat per ounce and if my math is correct, chicken contains about .88 grams per ounce. I used to give Ellie egg all the time but really am trying not to anymore because of this. I haven't been able to talk to her nutritionist about it yet... Please check my math on this...I could be wrong.
I would not count on the liver enzymes being elevated if it is the liver but you have been feeding a lot of protein and I'd think she would've started showing symptoms if the liver was an issue. Then again, we can't be sure. Not all dogs with liver disease will throw up after eating. What is the vet thinking it could be if it isn't pancreatitis? |
I think if we do end up needing a fat reduced diet- i'll stick with the whites... i was reading up on them.... the fat (although there is not much) is in the yolk and the protein is in the white, so i might just buy egg whites. But like i said.. she doesn't get very much of it.
