It's probably because she lost a tooth, but make sure there are no double rows of teeth. Most of us have had to have a few teeth pulled when neutering because Yorkies seldom lose all their teeth on their own, and the double row can cause food build up, and stinking breath. Using Petzlife once a week, isn't enough dental hygiene, I recommend using it twice a week and brushing 3 times a week. The Petzlife softens the tartar and the brushing takes it off. You can find inexpensive children's toothbrushes at the dollar store and get a toothpaste made for dogs, Joey loves a poultry flavored one, and because they like the taste of it, they won't fight you as much when you brush. They will chew on the toothbrushes so get several. I also recommend Bully Sticks, because I think the sticks help scrape the teeth. |
