Have you tried doing a bug bomb? That helped get a lot of the fleas out of our house, then we had to finish up with the baking soda, and the carpet cleaning.

The bug bomb worked, but my cousin let it reinfest. I told him when he got his cat home to immeadiately give him a flea bath to kill anything that was left if there was anything and he didn't and there were fleas on his cat... so it reinfested.

Our vet told us to use the capstar and the vectra within 30 minutes of each other and to give it to all the pets whether or not they had fleas. My dogs were flea free, but Chip must have had something inside of his body because he would just itch and itch. After giving the meds he was fine.
