When I was potty training my Yorkie, I placed him in a bigger kennel. I put a pad on one side of his kennel, and he slept on the other side of the kennel. He used the pads to go potty, because he was trained to potty on pads. When he had to use the bathroom in his kennel, then he would go potty on the pad. I used this strategy to prevent my dog from defecating on himself. I was able to potty train my dog by learning when he is most likely to go potty. He always had to go potty ten minutes after eating or playing. |
