As for the shwoing teeth what really helped us with his dominence was making him submit to us. He has bitten both of us a few times and this helped immensly. I saw it on Dog whisperer, I'm not a trainer at all so you may want to ask a professional. but what I did (he didn't listen to me only my husband) was growl back at him and hover over him and he would lay down and roll over and show me his stomach. The times that he didn't do this I would take hold of his jaw (to have control of his head) and stare at him until he looked away. I know it seems inhumane but its not. It's a bit extreme though and was hard for me to do at first but he needs to know your in control not him.
And I would greatly suggest some sort of training. we used the gentle leader head collar for his training and he is the mose loving dog now. its amazing the change we saw in him. I wish you all the luck |
Typically Felipe my boyfriend takes him on short walks whenever he goes outside which is pretty frequently, lately we havent been doing so because we live in a not so safe area and at night it gets a little scary. But Xavi is constantly running around inside the house which i dont mind.
About the showing the teeth thing and growling. Lol I actually did growl back at him one time and he just kind of looked at me like whatever lady. haha. He will NOT submit to me and will occasionally submit to felipe. Lately because he wont when i am angry with him I will take him gently and put him on the ground and roll him on his back to show that I am more dominant than he is. After that he will usually try to bite at me and I will grab his snout like you do and then he just whines and whines and whines and struggles to get out of it even though im just shutting his mouth so he doesnt bite me. The first time I did this because felipe told me to I cried my eyes out for like 5 mins cause I dont want to have to do that.
But I will try to get him training and try that collar. Thanks for the advice!!
