 arthritis?
Hi everyone--I'm new to the site and have a question about my Yorkie. Roxy is going to be 10 next Wednesday. A week ago Friday I noticed her limping. I couldn't tell which of her back legs was troubling her-it looked like she was having issues with both of them. I took her to the vet and he said she had arthritis. He didn't take any xrays. Can you tell a dog has arthritis w/o xrays? Anyway, he also said she might have a ligament tear or a sprain or she could have a neurological issue (slipped disc/tumor) although he didn't think the last was really an option but he put it out there. He put her on Metacam and said she should feel better in a few days. She's been taking it since Wed. but I think she's getting worse not better. Her back legs keep giving out from under her. I'm really nervous about what could be going on. Does anyone have and thoughts? Thanks!!!! |
