Hi, I have a little female yorkie Dixie who is almost 6 months old. When I went and picked her up my twin daughters ended up purchaseing a little male, Teddy, who is two weeks younger from the same breeder. When they were about four months old we adopted a 10 month old little yorkie, Maxie from some people who had lost thier job and could not take care of him anymore. I think there were some other personal problems as well but we are lucky in that he was a $1000.00 pure bred little yorkie who was well taken care of, neutered, utd on all shots, microchipped and a wonderful, loving little dog who has blended so well with our other two. They are like the three little musketeers running all over the back yard, sleep together and play together all day. At first I thought my twin daughters might change his name but then they decided not to and so we did not. He has done wonderfully. I think it is possible to change thier name, my suggestion would be to use his old name maybe together with the new one for awhile and then gradually dropping the old name.
