I never had a childhood, because I was always ill and now that I got Buddy I feel better. So I feel like one more would make me feel great.
I dont want Buddy to feel slighted or anything like that.
But Since I was sick since I was 10 (and I am 25 now), I missed out on so much from always being hospitalized.
Now that I am better, I feel its my time to make up for what I missed.
(Im tearing up now, sorry).
But it is hard.
Anyways, do you think Bud would feel slighted or feel like the pup was taking over?
Thanks again! |
You go for it! I have a 5 yr old female and will be getting a 4 month old male puppy in about a month. Your oldest Yorkie will adjust in time just as an older sibling adjust in time. I think they would be great company for you and each other as they adjust. Just be sure to give the first yorkie attention first so that he does not feel as if he is being replaced. And definitely don't put them together in a crate right away, you need to make sure they get along, but even still I would never leave them alone and unsupervised in a crate even after years of being together. I heard a very sad story about how one dog killed the other after being left alone in a crate. (I'm thinking it was a post on Yorkie talk as a matter of fact) Will you be getting the new Yorkie from the same person you got your first one from?
