AKC as stated above is the only bonafide pure bred registry......Other's were established by puppy mills, wholesellers who did not want to contend with AKC's stringent rules and the ability to advertise that their dogs are registered and the unsuspecting public will buy their ploy. I have a friend that purchased their "yorkie" from a pet store.......the "yorkie" was CKC registered. Well the yorkie, wasn't a yorkie but, a silky....they had no recourse..........
Not to say that because you buy a AKC dog that it is the best, we all know that isn't always true....the health of the dog is the most important.
