Agree.

I would ABSOLUTELY INSIST on pain meds - and I would call that vet office ahead of time to make SURE they know it. If they disagree - go somewhere else.

I am totally against using pain to suppress activity in dogs, like some vets think. There are ways to keep your baby quiet - provide extra chews during the healing time - that helps easily to keep a dog in one place, quietly working at their chew.
