I agree with this. After I spent $20,000 treating my bullmastiff for lymphoma over a two year period I was kicking myself for not having health insurance. I immediately looked into it for Rory, and they set a $500 limit for dealing with the cancer/chemo treatments per instance - so I could have paid out the premiums for all those months and gotten nothing in return but maybe $1,000, and that is assuming they considered it two separate instances as he went into remission for 10 months in between his two different rounds of chemo. I think they only way it might be beneficial would be if your dog was healthy but had a freak accident, e.g. broke a bone that required surgery. That's just my opinion though.
