The Heartgard chews can NOT be split up for smaller dogs.
The medication is injected unevenly into it, so they could get all of it one month and none the next.
I agree that it is a huge overdose but there isn't much choice.
Even with Interceptor, it says it is for dogs 2-10 pounds but the wanted to be able to claim that it controls intestinal worms too, so there is 5x the amount of medication needed in one Interceptor pill...another overdose.
