Some people have found that more frequent feeding helps or free feeding is another alternative. The problem with giving Nutri-cal is that it can cause another hypoglycemic episode to occur if there is not protein given afterwards, remember Nutri-cal is just a temporary fix, and since it's pure sugar it goes into the blood stream fast, but it also causes the body to produce insulin which can in turn bring on another attack of low blood sugar.
