How not to collect a sample.

I got a kit from the vet. Everytime I tried to put the container under Gus, he jumped and stopped urinating.

In desparation, one Sunday afternoon, Gus made a huge puddle on the hardwood floor. I suctioned a sample with the syringe and put it in the container. I didn't know whether to refrigerate it or keep it at room temperature. Decided on the latter (wrong).

Urinalysis showed a very high bacterial content.

What's more my wife and I didn't see Gus urinate. So, we wondered if it was his urine or our from our other Yorkie.

With the uncertainty, and bacterial content, I needed a good sample from Gus. Forturnately, the next morning I was able to collect it correctly. Bacterial content was still high.
