Sometimes a dog will suddenly move or jerk and accidentally cause a cut or nick. Groomers are only human and they all make mistakes sooner or later. I am sure the owner might have been down playing the incident hoping you would not get as upset. I think it was very responsible of the owner to take her to the vet and get her checked out. Many groomers would probably not do anything and hope you did not notice.
Not notice? Did you enlarge the pictures and see how big that chunk is? I agree accidents happen, but she at the very least owes them a HUGE apology! And for her to act that way is inexcusable! If she truly cared about the dog and her business, she would have been falling all over herself to make things right and saying how sorry she was.

I don't know what I'd do in this situation, but I'd be tempted to cut off a piece of her ear!
