Animal Smiley 019 Willy may have panceatitis?!

Hello all, I haven't been on in such a long time, but now I really need some of your expertise. Willy has been diabetic since Christmas and has been doing pretty well. Sunday he started throwing up so I took him to the vet, with a urine sample, and he once again has ketones. So he is hanging out at the vet trying to get better. When the dr. called last evening they have done bloodwork and are leaning towards a diagnosis of pancreatitis, which could also be what caused his diabetes. They wanted to put him on Hills wd, which he was on a few months ago, and caused him to itch uncontrollably(I believe he cannot tolerate the corn), so I told her that we cannot do that due to the corn issue. So she asked me to make him some rice & boiled chicken for them to feed him, and that she would like him on a really low fat diet.

So what I was wondering is if any of you have experience with this, and what seems to work for you. We are currently feeding canidae canned & chicken soup dry. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again, Desiree & Willy
