All my furbabies have been microchipped. I fell it's a must. Yes there are different ones, if they use the wrong scan the chip will still beep telling them there is a chip in there. I have a friend who almost lost her Yorkie, Both people had pictures of her, she ran up to both when called. The Police had no idea who she really belonged too. It was the chip that got her to her right mommy.
Princess who just hates going in for shots didn't even feel her chip going in, she was playing with the nurse.
Our Vet who has been with us for over 25 years likes all furbabies to be chipped, it's the only way you can be 100% sure she's your's.
