Unless you have already trained her on what "drop it" means, she will not respond to you. So in order for her to drop command something, you will have to spend time with her before another incident occurs.

You also have to understand that a dog's social hiearchy is strickly based on "control". Who has control of toys, food, door, and things including what they find on the floor/ground. If she thinks she is the alpha dog then she is not going to relinquish control of her item without a fight, because to do so will be to give up control of her position in the "pack". That is why she will fight you for it! (growling/biting). So you may also have to re-evaluate your role in the relationship and make some modifciations to re-gain control.
