Did you see the parents? That would give you some idea of the coat history. I know they say silky coated pups have thinner hair. Unfortunatley my silky one is Pixie and I didn't get her until she was 13 months old, but the breeder said she hardly had any coat as a puppy. Her coat now is so siky and so easy to care for.
