One of my Yorkies had the opinion: If you hurt me, I will hurt you. When the vet tried to draw blood for a test on her very first trip to the vet, she bit me and him. He was very concerned - said I could sue him because he is supposed to be in control of the dog in the examining room. I just laughed and asked if he got hurt. He also said that was the first time an owner asked if HE got hurt. She was a rescue, so I had no way of knowing she would react that way.

They put a mark on her record from then on that she was vicious or aggressive. I reminded them every time we went in and a needle was going to be used, that she might try to bite. I would put her in a headlock or I would hold a squirt bottle in front of her face - telling her "no bite, no bite". We never had another problem.

Flash forward 10 years, she no longer has many teeth and again the computer screen flashes "AGGRESSIVE DOG". I shook my head and said "C'mom - she doesn't even have teeth anymore - take that thing off her record!"

We had to have her euthanized in May this year. She was a character!
