This link gives information on how to create an animated gif, to use as an avatar.
http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...ng-avatar.html. One of the things it tell you is the size limits. For non-donating members it's 75x75 pixels and the overall file size can be no bigger than 20 KB, that translates to about 4 or 5 pictures.
Your profile picture is different than your avatar picture, and is displayed on your profile page. Here too you can use an animated gif, but for this, the size is 200 by 200 pixels and 58.6 KB. The information on size is given on the pages where you upload the avatar or profile picture.
