He'll weigh less, but he probably isn't overweight at 4 months. You should never try to change ultimate growth by restricting food, at this time brain cells, and teeth cells, and bones cells are growing, and need proper nourishment to be healthy, and strong. You shouldn't ever restrict food until the dog is about 8 months, and then a vet can tell you if the puppy is overweight for his size. How big was he at 12 weeks? They usually double the 12-week size.
