Tatum almost always has one laying around. Sometimes we have to take it away so she'll go to sleep but then if it's laying up on the nightstand during the day and she's looking for it, she'll stand there and do her little "beep" thing. Not quite a bark, just a "beep - hey I need help here!!" noise. We get the 6 inch ones and it's perfect length for her to hold in her paws to chew on. We take it away when it's about an inch or a little more long. She has gotten it stuck in the very back of her teeth before when we didn't realize it had gotten that short. We thought she was choking on it but it was just so gooey that it got stuck on a back tooth and she was trying to get it out. So it's best to take it away about that length.
