The only time I take Callies away from her is when it gets to small about 2 or 3 inches. I think if her mouth got sore she would stop chewing on it and sometimes she will just stop chewing on it and go do other things. I have never noticed Callies gums bleed from chewing on the bully sticks. Chewing on bones help strengthen there teeth. My moms dog never chewed on bones as a puppy and now thats hes older he cant really chew hard things because they will make his gums bleed.
