 It could be
the coat is breaking if your yorkie is running in the grass and playing outside....
My girl's coat is about an inch off the ground. I do oil her but, she has NEVER stepped in the grass to play. So, my next effort will be to wrap her coat......thinking that maybe the little jumping on the bed, and on my rugs may be breaking her coat a little on the ends.
That is my guess about the coat growth.
